1st Birthday

We had a little party on November 18th with cupcakes, candles, and some singing and another party on Saturday with a "smash" cake for the birthday boy. He got lots of great presents and we all had to play with them right away, well after a bath to wash away all the cake!

11 Months

One year is approach fast. We’ve been having lots of fun going to the library for Book Babies, stroller rides, and playing outside on a blanket. The cooler weather is nice but we had a cold front that made it too cold.

The little one likes to pull himself up using everything and then everything he can reach he’ll throw on the floor. He walks behind his lawnmower toy. He crawls all over the house and especially after the cats, who usually retreat very quickly.

He likes to point at everything and everyone. We can ask him where some things are (like the cat, bib, certain toys) and he’ll point to it or go after it.

Nine Month Mark

The little guy is getting big and I can tell when I carry him around the house. He has a new (3rd) tooth up top. So there's lots of drooling and chewing.

We started Book Babies at the library yesterday. The leader is great with kids; very outgoing. She leads us in songs with motions and she reads to the babies. There were about 9 babies in the class. Our little one danced a little, laughed a little, and looked around at everything (expecially the leader).

We are still going to the pool party once a week. Yesterday I took him out of his floating and we went surfing on a skin board- type thing. He had lots of fun on the new toy.

He is pulling himself up to a standing position. He's good at it in the crib and with parental help, but not so great pulling up on furniture. But it's only a matter of time.

We are having so much fun this summer. We hope everyone is staying cool and having fun too.

Summer Days

We've been doing much of the same. Tuesdays are pool days. It's been hot so the stroller rides are at the mall or in the evening. Matthew goes down to the pond to see the fish and turtles (the neighbors feed them bread) in the afternoon when there's shade near the shore.

We went to the library, for the first time, last Monday. They were having a quilt show so we looked around and read some books. We had lots of fun. They have an infant story time so we marked our calendar to check it out.

He is crawling all around the house. The cat, Squirty, likes to park it about 4 feet away and when the little one gets his tail he'll move 4 more feet. We try to encourage him to be gentle with the kitty.

8 Months

Well, it's a few days past the 8 month mark. Time keeps ticking and the little guy keeps growing. He started eating Cheerios for a snack and he really likes them. He can pick them up himself but they don't make it to his mouth, usually the floor. So daddy feeds the Os.

We are still going to the pool party every week. Last weekend everyone went for a swim on Saturday. It was a short one because a storm was coming. The little one has a baby floaty he sits in. He is kicking and holding himself up much better than when we started. He likes to get out of the floaty and really kick and splash.

Lots Going On

We have a lot of new things going on. We all had company over the 4th of July weekend. Grandma Kris, Uncle Jeff, and Aunt Heather visited the first part of the weekend. Then Poppi, Nana, and Taylor came for the second part. We had fun visiting the beach at sunset, shopping, and staying cool.

The little one is scooting around the house. The Dr. called it, "the military crawl." He went to the Dr's at 7 months and is doing great. He has his 2 bottom teeth and is drooling and chewing lots. He is starting to sit on his own (for a few second) but he still prefers to scoot about to get to his toys. Soon we'll need to baby proof the house.

Pool Fun

The pool party and a "speedo" and Baby and mom in the pool. We stays in the shade with a floppy hat and get a workout kicking. He likes the splashing all the kids do and he likes to splash in and out of his little floaty boat.

7 Months

7 months today! He's taking a long nap this morning and mom has time to make his late morning meal.

Last weekend the family went blueberry picking. We all had lots of fun. We all were picking (trying to) more blueberries from the bucket than the trees. Dad carried him in the harness carrier. It was a hot morning but we had some shade and lots of fun.

Baby and mom go to a pool party at our neighbor's every Tuesday. We got in the water for the first time this week. He wasn't sure if he liked it when his feet were in but he warmed up to the water quick. He was kicking, splashing, and squealing once he was in up to his belly and neck. They had a baby float that he liked to ride in too. Ms Elaine took a picture, I'll have to ask her for a copy.

OK

Another day at the office and here's an an OK sign because naps are a go today.
